As the 15th of this month approaches, much has been said and fussed about the day that precedes it being an immoral christian festivity. And as much it it pains me to see how there still can be people who can make these kind of irresponsible comments and quite frankly shows how ignorant a person can be about their surrounding, there still exists people who think that by merely not serving pork in a restaurant, that makes the place halal.
Well i'm no expert in the laws of the muslim faith but i'm pretty sure no pork does not equate to halal. I guess we as a nation have still a long way to go if we can't see past this shallowness and get to know each others culture just a little bit better. If anything, i'd have to say that most of us are pretty happy being ignorant because it's so much easier to write off a person due to his believe than it is to take the extra effort to know why people do the things they do.
And the same applies to how people can childishly assume all western culture = Christianity just as the same way all turban wearing Muslims with a beard= terrorists. Grow up la please.
I do not disagree for a moment that too much fuss is being being flamed surrounding the person and the statements made regarding this issue. Who can disagree that many couples will be dining in overly priced establishments, getting ridiculously priced roses (or most other flowers for that matter) and being pressured to buy bunny plushies to show the girl that " i is want to make babay bunnehs nao! kthxbai! "
What will normal couples be doing this come this unholydayofsinanddebauchery 2011? Beats me... avoid being caught by the moral police?
