Durians @ Taiping

So just the other day I was invited to the home of Mr. & Mrs J. for a simple dinner. Prior to that i met up with some of the people at TGH and we decided that perhaps it would be good to bring some buah tangan... literally ...

From what i've heard Mrs. J has a sweet spot for durians so we thought it would be a nice treat for her to get her some durians. So we went by the roadside and saw a makcik selling durians..

So 1 longgok was rm20... for 10 small biji... wah... thats too much to bring as a buah tangan la..
She also didn't want to sell in smaller amounts.. shucks.. this mak cik ar...
We decided to go for 6 bigger biji..but also same price.. and took 3 bunches of mangosteen.

The smell of the durian was fantastic.. she said it was from cangkat jering wor...hmmm..
Better yet was the mangosteen...mmm nothing goes better after a good durian feast like some nice mangosteen =)

We couldn't finish all 6 so i had to take back 3... yea... 8 ppl only managed to eat 3 biji... and they expected me to take back 3 for my housemates.

Housemate 1: I don't eat durian 1 laa
Housemate 2: Oh no thanks..
Housemate 3: Chiak pa liao..

( oh yea...got hokkien speaking ppl in ma house... yahooo)

So i was scratching my head.... how to settle?? The makcik open each durian for me to test that it was masak..she even said " takkan la makcik tipu..." when i asked her if the durians were nice or not... ( honestly though..it was rather dark... i would have been none the wiser)



The house no knife 1... luckily i travel with a ..erm... pocket knife ( funny how its almost instinct to call it the swiss army knife...haha.. mine's not swiss nor for the army.. but it's good enough)

Tadaa...lucky got..if not use hand to to force it open liao

Here's to 2 days worth of durians for me, myself and I... ( ok..so 1 of the durians spoil d...mak cik.... mak cikkkk )
