As none of us really knew the route, we had to rely on mr garmin. GMaps and Garmin showed the same path but from the earlier research i saw that they recommend to use the LDP route.
At the start of the hike, you will see a stall selling some batteries, mosquito repellent and what not. Armed with a 1 energy bar ,1 snickers bar, and my Milestone (as light/camera/fb updater) the hike began in total darkness. Since this is a overly popular hiking spot, there is a clear path to the top but not a paved path. In fact its just a soil path.. Some parts are quite slippery so go with some footwear with grip eh.
Being a public holiday/school holiday the crowd was quite big ... anyway.. a torch is a must.. beh cope with just the light from my phone la.. some places more like just feeling around for the next foot hole. If no choice then have to tag along with a group which has some light. For me it was a group of students. About halfway i took a breather and looked back at the town behind us and it reminded me of the KK climb.
Reached the 1st peak and had a rest while waiting for the break of dawn. Chill out awhile..the breeze was cool and nice, the view was nice. Not as spectacular as Mt. K because you can't see the 1st light from the horizon but nonetheless the view is still breathtaking.
As usual, DSLRs are so common and affordable now, everyone seems to be carrying one. Honestly, i think a compact would do just fine.. just up to you to compose the shot but of course if you do have one... no harm to get a better quality image. I took a few shots below:

When the sun came up..complete with lens flare!The hike took less than an hour... but i guess that depends on your fitness. We further advanced to the 2nd peak.. less people.. and also to get away from the group of people who were disrupting my enjoyment of the fresh breeze with their addiction.
There was a 3rd peak but we agreed that there was nothing more special than the 1st 2.. i guess the view would be the same gua.. Anyway the sun was coming up and we decided to start hiking down. This was the tricky part, for a guy of my mass... added to the fact that it was slippery. Of course there were kids that were running down and pretending to be macho in front of the girls. Ah.. to be young and foolish.
At the bottom of the trail you can see some stalls selling coconut, 100 + and other drinks...even before you reach you can already hear the clanging of the bells from the ice cream stall~ Overall its a good place to go hike... but not necessarily you need to go up to catch the sunrise. Even when its bright you can get quite nice photos.
