*hint* It starts with C and rhymes with Machinist - Being mediocre is as being invisible. Either be the best at something or be the very worst. Reason is its easier to be remembered as either a person who did lots or a person who slacked off the most as you become the outlier. Normally everybody wants to fall in within the std dev of the population but truth is its always easier to note that single value that went out of the norm to destroy your graph.
Lesson? If you cant be the best, the best is for you to be the worst - I'm sure most have thought this way before "got slowdown meh? where got?" As we continue to see people queing up to pay exorbitant prices for gourmet coffee that taste as good as how much you paid. The best coffee i had this week? The 1 opposite 99 for a grand total of rm1.
Lesson? The real economic indicator is the queue in front of a Star-Beans-Cafe - Its the stuff your parents told you to do but you resisted you will one day do willingly without batting an eyelid.
Lesson? Wisdom of the wise is wasted on the youth of the young.
